Munk in the City 2022 Registration Form

Are you interested in learning about the challenges facing Toronto communities and the issues on residents’ minds in the upcoming municipal election? The Urban Policy Lab will be kicking off its first experiential event of the year, Munk in the City, on Friday, September 23rd from 5-6:30PM.

In the weeks leading up to the municipal election, pairs of students across the MPP and MGA programs will step out of the classroom and into the community, venturing to all corners of the city to explore and report on key issues in each of Toronto’s 25 electoral districts. Students will produce a series of creative dispatches — blog entries, photo essays, podcasts, and video shorts — that speak to the lived reality of people in the city, and the policy questions we should ask ourselves, and our elected leaders, as voters head to the polls on October 24th.

To prepare and inspire students to chronicle the city around them, the initiative will kick off with a training workshop led by Adam Hasham, an experienced urban policy and public engagement professional, skilled at communicating with diverse stakeholders.

Students can register in pairs, or register individually to be paired with another student. Note that MPP students will be paired with MGA students, and vice versa, to encourage cross-program mingling!

Please register by Thursday, September 22, 5pm ET.

Have questions? Feel free to reach out to Urban Policy Lab fellows Joanne Banh (MPP, joanne.banh@mail.utoronto.ca or Britt Barwise (MGA, b.barwise@mail.utoronto.ca).
